Additional Graphing Calculator Information

Incoming Grade 10's:  We hope you are having a great summer and we look forward to seeing you in our classes in the fall.  Any student that is taking a Pure or Applied Math course (not Math 14) is recommended to have a graphing calculator. The calculator that the QE Math department recommends is the Texas Instruments 83+ (TI-83+) or the TI-84+.   These calculators will range from about $100 - $150 and places like Costco, Superstore, Wal-Mart, Staples and Future Shop often have summer and back-to school sales.  We realize that this is a big purchase but students will require a graphing calculator for their Math Diploma Exams in grade 12 and they can use this calculator for their other classes including Chemistry, Physics and Biology. If you are purchasing a new calculator please retain and submit the UPC code from the back of the package to your math teacher as we can redeem these for in-school technology resources.

For any other math courses a scientific calculator is required.

Graduating Grade 12's:   If any graduates are interested in selling their graphing calculators, please leave a message at the school by calling 780-476-8671, voicemail #552.  You can also email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .  If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact the school after August 19th.

Combination Locks are sold at the school at a cost of $10.00.  This is a heavy-duty lock and is highly recommended over the less expensive and less secure models.

School Photos  -  All students must have a picture taken as a requirement for school identification purposes, at no charge.  Picture packages may be purchased from SMART PHOTOGRAPHY.  Pictures are taken during the registration process in August.  Cheques should be made payable to SMART PHOTOGRAPHY not to Queen Elizabeth High School.  Payment must be made at the time of the sitting.  Note:  Postdated cheques are NOT accepted.
